Industry: First Nations Stewardship
I use a computer to make maps, analyse spatial data and tell stories about the land and sea. Currently, I work with the Coastal Stewardship Network, a program of Coastal First Nations – Great Bear Initiative, to coordinate a regional monitoring system used by First Nations on the Central and North Coast and Haida Gwaii. I support Coastal Guardian Watchmen and Stewardship Offices in collecting field data and in using this information for a variety of purposes, including implementation of land and marine use plans.
Why work here?
Sometimes the city gets me down; people are hustling and don’t want to look you in the eye. The Studio offers a beautiful space to work in a quiet, respectful environment, and also contains a warm community of people that are genuinely interested when they ask “how’s your day going?”.
